Our History

Street Soccer USA was founded in 2009 by two brothers out of a homeless soup kitchen in Charlotte, NC. That single team has grown into a national nonprofit in 22 cities, serving more than 75,000 players in some of the country’s highest need neighborhoods.

Our Goal

To provide an alternative to the pay-to-play model of youth soccer in the United States that is local, accessible, high quality, and fun. There are 11 million youth living at or below the poverty line in the United States and 3 million registered youth soccer players. The overlap is minimal. We’re setting out to change that.

We build and nourish ecosystems of Street Soccer Parks, Programs, and Cups to create a local, accessible, sustainable model that strengthens communities across the country.

Our Players

We provide programming to youth ages 4 and up, including homeless families, adults, and people in recovery. We focus on neighborhoods where 33% of residents live below the poverty line and graduation rates fall between 55 and 65%.
