Join the Street Soccer USA Park for our Soft Opening Event in conjunction with the Spring Opening of the Yard at Mission Rock on Friday, March 25th from 11am-9pm.
Street Soccer USA is partnering with The Yard at Mission Rock to bring a premier small-sided soccer facility to San Francisco. Following a ribbon cutting ceremony at lunch, two tournaments as well as open play for drop-in guests will take place. The public is welcome at any time of the day to meet our staff, have a look at the field, or lace up and play. See the full schedule below for details.
The Yard’s Spring Launch event will feature food and drink, music, games and prizes. Brewers from the iconic Anchor brewery in Potrero Hill will be tapping a specialty firkin barrel of limited edition beer starting at 3pm. In addition to Anchor Brewing and existing partner Bank of America, The Yard welcomes Belcampo Meat Company and Crêperie Saint Germain this year, and of course, the Street Soccer USA Park.

- 12-3pm: Corporate/Business Tournament (limited space)
- 3-5pm: Open Drop-In Play (walk-in welcome, just show up!)
- 5:30-8:30pm: Open Happy-Hour Social Tournament (limited space)
- **5:30pm Featured Match**: SF Derby for Social Change: SF City FC Front Office vs SF Deltas Ops team.
- Games are played in the Street Soccer USA 4v4 style (rules here)
- Free to play, optional on-site $20 donation per player to Street Soccer USA social program appreciated for players entering tournament
- Kickoff tournament will feature rapid fire 20 minute matches played in round robin, followed by a semi-final and final
- Beers at the Anchor Steam beer garden just steps off the pitch provided by the Street Soccer USA Park for teams that make the final.
About the Street Soccer USA Park:
Street Soccer USA Park is part of Street Soccer USA, an exciting social enterprise that runs world class leagues and competitions and promotes the game of street soccer while using soccer as youth development tool to achieve outcomes in education and employment for the least served across the United States and right here in the Bay Area.
Registration for leagues start in April. The Park will have offerings for all skill levels, including lunch drop-in play, corporate leagues, market hour leagues, coed/social leagues and more.
About The Yard at Mission Rock
Open year round, seven days per week, The Yard activates a portion of Giants Parking Lot A, at the corner of 3rd St. and Terry Francois Blvd. The pop-up village is constructed out of 13 repurposed shipping containers that were deemed no longer seaworthy. These containers now serve as community gathering spots, house local food and drink establishments and provide public, open space.
