Street Soccer USA San Francisco is excited to team up with Columbus Cyclery LLC to start the first Bay Area bicycle mechanic training program for Street Soccer USA adult participants.
SSUSA and Columbus Cyclery are weaving the 8 Street Soccer Skills into a 15 week paid training course where our players will have the chance to learn the ins and outs of bicycle repair, assembly and maintenance, and the skill set of an experienced bicycle mechanic. Upon completion, our players will receive a Columbus Cyclery Bike Mechanic Certification for employment in the skilled trades, automotive, or mechanical engineering fields. As an added perk, players will also ride away with a free bike that they assembled throughout the internship. Biking is the most cost effective way to get around the city of San Francisco and the training course will also help remove a barrier of transportation another overlooked challenge of being homeless.
