Street Soccer USA Opens First Soccer for Social Change Facility in Philadelphia

Last week marked another important and exciting milestone for Street Soccer USA as we officially opened the first Street Soccer USA Park-Kensington in Philadelphia on Wednesday October 19th. On hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the facility were City Council Member Maria Quiñones Sánchez; Sharon Powell, Senior Director of Government Affairs for Comcast Cable; professional Women’s Soccer Players Lianne Sanderson and Ashley Nick; and members of the Kensington Soccer Club.

The newest street soccer park, a collaboration between Street Soccer USA, Comcast, Kensington Soccer Club and ShiftCapital, marks another benchmark in our ongoing mission of empowering communities and fighting property through soccer. Over 100 young soccer players, parents, local medias and supporters attended for an afternoon filled with great energy and excitement. Below are some additional highlights and photos and please also check out the 20 second field building video. Hope you enjoy it!
