From New York to San Francisco, SSUSA jumps on board to provide underserved families with back to school gear!
Just weeks prior to the Red Hook Backpack Giveaway in New York, SSUSA Bay Area participated in BMAGIC’s Back to School Celebration & Backpack Giveaway. 2000 backpacks and uniforms were distributed to families in the Bayview/Hunter’s Point neighborhood. Not only were the kids stoked to receive new gear for school, but they were able to enjoy a fun afternoon playing soccer in the famous Street Soccer USA blow-up court. There was non-stop soccer games from the opening of the event at 11am through closing at 3pm. Street Soccer is grateful to BMAGIC for inviting us to be a part of this wonderful family event. All in attendance were impressed at the care and attention in activating the PG&E’s NOW Hunter’s Point Site.
We are looking forward to an extended presence in the Bayview in 2017-18.
