SSUSA San Francisco Players Feature on USL League Two Team

 

 

Ahmed Fara and  Moheeb Ali , two members of the Tenderloin Street Soccer Club in San Francisco have earned starting spots with the San Francisco Glens Football Club preseason squad. Both players were connected with an open tryout for the USL League Two Team. After three competitive tryouts, Fara and Ali showcased their skill, work-ethic and positive attitude which impressed the SF Glens Coaches. The two young men will continue playing their best as they approach the kick-off of the USL Season on May 5th in San Francisco.

Fara and Ali have taken what they learned at SSUSA and applied it to their playing experience at SF Glens .

“SSUSA has taught me to keep going,” Fara said. “It’s a lot of ups and downs playing with such a competitive team, but I just keep working hard and doing my best.”

Both players love that playing at SF  Glen has enabled them to meet more members of the community,  hang out with their teammates, and learn from their coaches. Fara and Ali have already seen and improvement in their tactical skills and hope to only get better.

Ali thanks SSUSA for helping him get tryouts with SF Glens and preparing him to play at a higher level.

“Every SSUSA practice has helped me become a better player and person on and off the field, ” Ali said. “They’ve taught me how to be a good teammate.”

Fara and Ali have been having a wonderful time playing at USL level.

“It’s been an amazing experience,” Fara said. “At times it’s really difficult to play at such a fast pace, but it’s been great exposure and I can tell I’m improving.”

Ali, a fast learner has adapted to the USL style of play.

“It’s been really fun, I’ve learned a lot. ” Ali said. “It’s way different soccer from what I’m used to playing.”

These young men have learned a few things as SSUSA participants and SF Glen players.

“I’ve learned that I have to play hard all the time,” Ali said. ” You have to put all your heart into it, play 100% and play as a team.”

They have learned that soccer is more than just a game, its a way to grow and be successful as an individual through team effort.

“Soccer is so much more than just passing, shooting and dribbling.,” Fara said. “You’ve got to be strong, use your brain and be aware at all times.”
