Street Soccer USA is proud to send 14 hardworking players to represent the United States at the 2019 Homeless World Cup in Cardiff, Wales this week. More than 500 players representing 64 different countries will come together for the 17th edition of this inspiring event.
The tournament provides a unique opportunity for people from all over the world who have been affected by homelessness to join together in sport. Players can share their stories with others who understand their hardships, while also playing in a world-class soccer tournament in front of a supportive audience.
Street Soccer USA is the proud, exclusive U.S. partner of the Homeless World Cup and has sent a team each of the last 15 years. The daily work Street Soccer USA does with homeless populations is echoed on an international scale at this event: building positive and trusting relationships with teammates, emphasizing accountability and responsibility, and being a part of something larger than yourself. Street Soccer USA has seen the positive impact that sports can have on a person’s life and is excited to support and take part in this amazing event again.
