On 6/15 we were able to bring all of our Street Soccer USA communities together to celebrate our Spring Season. Our Red Hook Community had the chance to host this tournament at our Street Soccer USA parks in Bush Clinton Park. We had about 60 players participating in U10, U14 and U18 groups from our different community clubs (Red Hook, Sunset Park, Flatbush Gardens, East New York, Claremont Village, Uptown Soccer). These tournaments are a great way for our players to make friends, compete, learn/grow and have lots of fun.
At our tournaments our players get the chance to meet new friends and learn about different communities. As teams are competing in their games, kids are able to dance to music, have a kick around on the side, socialize and share a plate of food with each other. Even though sometimes our players can get emotional as results don’t always go their way. This gives us the opportunity to help them learn/grow as a player and person.
The power of soccer helps us bring all of our communities together. It’s the one thing all of our participants and families can relate to. As we say here in NYC, We Play For Family!!
