Street Soccer USA brought its pop-up soccer court to Sunset Park in Brooklyn on Sunday November 19th in support of the Day of Unity and Solidarity event hosted by Council Member Carlos Menchaca. Speaker of the City Council Melissa Mark-Viverito spoke about the importance of unity in community at the event. Over 70 youth including a team from our partner, Kensington Soccer Club from Philadelphia, and Cedar Star Soccer Club participated in the mini-tournament.
Council Member Carlos Menchaca played two friendly matches with youth players. The event also featured a friendly match between officers from the NYPD 72nd Precinct and youth players. In a period of uncertainty and change, Street Soccer USA is dedicated to continue its mission and to serve a diverse yet united community.
