Dear Street Soccer Supporters Club Members:
I’m Lisa Wrightsman. As someone who played in the Homeless World Cup, who has coached Homeless World Cup teams, and who to was able host the Homeless World Cup in my hometown of Sacramento, I want to implore you to watch the video about Sienna above, and to read her latest updates below. Sienna is one of the several thousand individuals that Street Soccer USA has helped overcome homelessness over the past 14 years. Think about that . . .
And next week, we’ll do it again. Street Soccer USA’s 2024 teams head off to represent the United States at this year Homeless World Cup. Let’s go USA!
ABOUT SIENNA
Sienna Jackson was a midfielder for Team USA at the 2023 Sacramento Homeless World Cup. Through Street Soccer USA Sienna has overcome a challenging childhood and homelessness. Forced to leave home with only $2 in her pocket, Sienna slept on the street. Then she found Street Soccer Sacramento.
Flash forward two years, Sienna has recently moved into her own apartment, still plays soccer at the Street Soccer Union Pacific Park in Sacramento, and works full time in a dental office cleaning little kids’ teeth. But that’s not all. She’s going back to school soon to get her doctorate degree in dental and just started coaching one of our Under 8s girl’s soccer team.
The other day I asked her what she thought about her progress. “Nothing is impossible,” Sienna said with beautiful ear to ear smile.
